Young Australians are snatching up property in Urbex’s Northern Gold Coast development, Harriet Lane, with only 14 lots remaining in stage one. Selling generous sized lots (634m2 to 1761m2) from as low as $275,000*, a new breed of young investors are taking on older wealthy Australian’s who are purchasing property on the Coast.

Holly Power and Alex Hart are the first and youngest couple to sign a contract with the Harriet Lane estate for a 660m2 lot. Wanting to take advantage of the Queensland First Home Owners’ Grant, the couple saw an opportunity in the Gold Coast market.

“The price for the Oxenford area is good and the land size compared to what you get four exits up the highway is a lot better. It was just a smart decision for us,” Alex said.

“There are a lot of investors coming from interstate and overseas who are buying land on the Gold Coast. It is hard to find a house on the Coast for under $500,000, especially for something you want and to yield positive gains.

“Purchasing land and building allows us to live in a brand new house and add value through a pool and outdoor entertaining area. We can build equity on the house and use it as a stepping stone to purchase another property,” Alex said.

Planning to build a four bedroom house, Alex and Holly say the location was a key factor for their purchasing decision.

“Harriet Lane is very central, you are less than 10-minutes from Helensvale and 25-minutes from Surfer’s Paradise. You’ve got Mount Tambourine and Maudsland minutes away if you want to go adventuring. Then you have Aldi, Woolworths and everything you need just a few minutes down the road,” Holly said.

With 49 home sites planned for the new development, Alex says the couple were also attracted to the lifestyle Harriet Lane promises, embracing large open spaces and nature while being close to everything.

“It is like being on a country road when you drive out here. It is so peaceful and relaxing. You feel like you are away from the city, but it is really so close,” Alex said.
Urbex Sales Consultant, Stacey Scrutton says there has been a lot of interest from younger buyers.

“We are seeing a lot of home buyers attracted to the development because of the current interest rate environment and the benefits of the Queensland First Home Owners’ Grant,” Stacey said.

“The boutique selection of blocks and the convenience of today’s living is what attracts first home buyers, young families and trade up buyers to the Harriet Lane development,” Stacey said.

With a host of schools, entertainment options, shopping centers and services just a short drive away, Harriet Lane is epitome of modern and affordable living, all within easy reach of a major city.
