Urbex expands its portfolio and housing capability  

Urbex strengthened its national residential portfolio and broadened its housing delivery capability in FY26, expanding into new markets, progressing future communities and growing its affordable housing offering.  

During the year, Urbex sold 333 lots and brought 367 lots to market nationally, with seven active residential estates.  

Acquisitions at Sellicks Beach and Hallett Cove marked Urbex’s entry into South Australia, while development approval for the first two stages of Southern Thornlands advanced its future housing pipeline in South East Queensland.  

Urbex General Manager Carl Bruhn said the year demonstrated the value of careful planning, experienced people and long-term partnerships.  

“FY26 was about strengthening our portfolio while continuing to create places people love to call home,” Mr Bruhn said.  

“Our team’s experience, supported by the broader BMD Group’s capability, allows us to bring development planning and construction together to support informed decisions and practical delivery outcomes.”  

Urbex also expanded its affordable housing capability, completing its first prefabricated-panel construction project in the Community Housing space. The first project delivered six homes, with a further 57 homes underway across Miles, Roma and Warwick, bringing the total program to 63 homes. The year also saw Arc on the Point reach completion, with settlements finalised, and Enclave in Cairns achieve full sell-out after a decade of delivery.  

“Our expansion into new markets and housing models gives us more ways to respond to housing needs,” Mr Bruhn said.   

“The focus ahead is on converting our growing pipeline into well-planned communities that create lasting value for residents and partners.”  

Urbex enters FY27 focused on bringing titled land to market, progressing Southern Thornlands towards its first releases and building on its expanded national footprint.
