Ownership

Urbex is a wholly-owned company of the BMD Group, a national group of companies engaged in engineering design, construction, landscaping and land development for clients and partners in the urban development, transport infrastructure and resources and energy sectors.

BMD has grown from a small Queensland family business to become one of Australia’s largest privately-owned construction, consulting and urban development organisations.

2003

Urbex established by the BMD Group.

2008

Aspley Isle won the 2008 Small Residential Subdivision Award for Excellence at the Urban Development Institute of Australia Queensland Gala Awards.

2005

Kalynda Chase, Bohle Plains, releases first land sales to the market. Project is a joint venture with the Lancini Group, and will hold 1500 households upon completion.

2012

Capestone comes to life with the first land release marketed to the public. This lakeside community is a wholly owned Urbex development with over 1500 homesites upon completion.

Urbex Realty opens first Darwin office.

First land release for Zuccoli Village, Palmerston. A joint venture with the Land Development Corporation. This major development will host home to over 900 households once upon completion.

2013

Urbex becomes a proud major sponsor of the Darwin Buffaloes Football Club.

Minnippi was awarded the 2017 Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) Queensland Branch Category 4 Earth Award (project valued $10 million to $30 million).
