Retired couple, Ian and Carol, have finally settled on a home they plan on never leaving after purchasing a parcel of land in Brisbane’s bayside, Victoria Point.

The pair are no strangers to packing boxes, moving a total of 31 times in the hope they would call one their home for life. The couple knew they wanted to reside within the bayside region after living in the Redlands for 16-years, but were unable to find a suitable home or land until they noticed a perfect sized lot at Arc on the Point, an Urbex development located in Victoria Point.

“We knew we wanted to retire in the Redlands, but we couldn’t find a home that we thought we could live in forever, until we saw a vacant lot at Arc on the Point, and our minds started
ticking,” Ian said.

“The existing homes in the area were too big for our liking, as we’re downsizing not upsizing, and this was obviously reflected in the price.”

After taking a look at the allotments at Arc on the Point and its proximity to amenities and the waterfront, they could not look past the opportunity to make this their 32nd and final move.

The couple purchased a 403m2 lot at Urbex’s $92M bayside project, Arc on the Point, which boasts land ranging from 352m2 to 639m2, starting from $550,000.

“We are at the age where we want to live in a home that fits to our needs, close to the shops and the bay, and we finally found it at Arc on the Point.

“We floated the idea of a retirement village, but being longtime residents of the Redlands, we didn’t want to give up the bayside lifestyle.”

Victoria Point is renowned for offering a tranquil and balanced lifestyle with the bay a stones throw away. Mirroring this, over 23 per cent of the Urbex project will be committed to open
space, landscaped parkland and conservation areas.

Urbex Realty Sales Consultant, Stacey Scrutton says the demand for bayside living has seen a significant uplift in enquiry over the past few years due to the pandemic and the lifestyle
appeal the bayside offers.

According to Corelogic, growth over the past 12 months on homes show 26.7%, putting the median home price around $817,250”, Stacey said.

Whilst the economy has slowed over the last quarter due to interest rate hikes and inflation, we’re still seeing reasonably strong enquiry from buyers who are wanting to stay in the area but looking to upgrade their living spaces or downsize to suit their lifestyle changes’.

Arc on the Point is perfectly situated to maximise the existing characteristics in the area, including a short 3-minute drive to Victoria Point’s Shopping Centre bustling with dining options, boutique shops and a cinema, an 8-minute drive to the Redland Bay golf course and 10-minutes away from the Victoria Point’s beachfront walk, jetty and boat ramp.

Ian and Carol are in the process of building their retirement home scheduled for completion by Christmas 2023 and are looking forward to never packing boxes again.
