Nationally renowned developer, Urbex, has officially expanded into the West Coast market, with the purchase of a site in Gosnells, Perth.

The move comes after three years of potential development site exploration from Urbex, whose parent company, BMD Group, first branched out to the West Coast in 2015.

Urbex has commenced construction on a 50-lot subdivision of the 17,822m2 site on Homestead Road, which sits in one of Perth’s premier growth corridors, approximately 26-kilometres south east from Perth’s City centre.

Earning a reputation as a major force in the development industry over the past 18 years, Urbex’s expansion into Western Australia is a significant move that will facilitate further innovations in residential and commercial developments of varying size and scale across the state.

Urbex has been creating innovative living environments for nearly two decades that set new benchmarks in urban design and community creation, recognised by industry peers, with 11 awards for excellence across master planned communities and environmental excellence.

Urbex General Manager Peter Sherrie said Gosnells presented a unique opportunity for a boutique entry into a tightly held land market.

“With the Gosnells land acquisition, Urbex will apply urban design controls and housing design guidelines, enhancing the affordable value and quality community for future residents to call home,” Mr Sherrie said.

“After three years of searching for the perfect land for our West Australian expansion, Gosnells offered the opportunity to solidify our national footprint to the standard expected of any Urbex project.”

The Gosnells site will be known as “Homebrook” and will leverage the proximity to the Canning River foreshore reserve with its wide open spaces, easy access to road and rail transport, combined with convenience and modern amenity right on your doorstep.

Urbex Realty General Manager Craig Covacich said the project would offer a lifestyle that combined the proximity of Gosnells surrounding natural attractions with the facilities of a bustling urban environment.

“With a local population that’s grown 5.7 per cent over just five years, Homebrook will cater to the needs of young families who dream of homeownership,” Mr Covacich said.

“In purchasing Gosnells, we saw the key owner-occupier values of location to CBD, easy access via strong road and rail networks, proximity to respected schools and colleges as well as open space for parks.”
