Townsville residents opt for a tree change

There are very few places you can buy 25 acres of rural land 10minutes from city amenities but in Townsville property buyers are being spoilt for choice. Six new rural lots have just been released on Moncrieff Road, 12 kilometres from Willow Shopping Centre.

Local developer Urbex is behind the new boutique subdivision which has all the benefits of a “tree change” but with quick access to local amenities.

Urbex Development Manager David Argent said two lots were already under contract.

“We’re finding that these lots suit families who are moving in from rural areas and buyers looking for a tree change,” he said.

Mr Argent said the new development had an attractive rural feel with a seasonal creek running through each of the six lots.

“The lots each have a lovely outlook to the mountains that surround the area and services are available to the lots. New houses in this area use septic and have access to bore water. It’s not the property for everyone but we are finding there is no shortage of people that are attracted to the open space and large lots.”

Moncrieff Road lots start at $260,000 for 9.15 hectares (22.6 acres) and range up to $320,000 for 10 hectares (24.7 acres).
