Urbex General Manager Wayne Rex said the AFL had a long proud history in the Northern Territory dating back to the 1910s and the Territory was also the birthplace of dozens of professional footballers.
“Seven percent of all Northern Territorians in 2007 participated in AFL and the NT produces more professional footballers per capita than any other state or territory,” he said. “The Melbourne Football Club has played in the Territory 12 times, which is more than any other club in the league and it continues to invest in regional football to help it grow at a grassroots level.”
“We are very proud to be part of their program which delivers value to community we are helping to build with our Zuccoli and Johnston Ridge projects.”
“2015 was Urbex’s third year sponsoring the popular Darwin AFL games.”
