Eager West Coast buyers unexpectedly became First Home Buyers after their idea of first home was flipped on its head after purchasing a brand-new build.

Rebecca Erren and James Taylor never expected to purchase a new build as their hearts were set on being renovators of an existing residence. As demand increased for current dwellings, the couple’s building consultant, by chance, introduced them to a Gosnell’s community, and surprisingly ticked all the boxes for the couple.

“Before looking to build, we had our hearts set on purchasing something we might renovate, like a 3 or 4 bed townhouse or house, but we always ran into the issue of nothing being available within our price range, that we wanted to live in,” Rebecca explained.

“When we started looking at land as an alternative, we still found it quite disheartening as there were a number of roadblocks around supply, availability and suitability of blocks in certain locations.”

Soon after, the couple purchased a 357m2 lot in Homebrook, an Urbex development located in the thriving pocket of Gosnells and have plans to be residents of Homebrook for the long run.

“Homebrook is central to the Perth region so it suits our lifestyle perfectly, but it was also affordable enough to meet our budget needs and it’s really given us hope back that we can finally own our own place.”

Gosnells, located 30 minutes from Perth, is the site of national award-winning developer Urbex’s new 50-lot boutique residential estate Homebrook, uniquely positioned in a leafy green pocket right on the Canning River foreshore reserve, has now sold 30% of its first release since entering the market in June this year.

General Manager of Urbex Realty, Craig Covacich said Homebrook provides welcome respite for first time home buyers looking to break into the Perth property market.

“Perth property prices have been at an all-time high through the last few months and home buyers are often faced with the impossible challenge of finding a property that accommodates their budgetary and location needs,” Craig said.

“In contrast, we’ve seen huge uptake from first home buyers on the West Coast in Homebrook, Urbex’s first foray into the Perth property market, which combines unmatched affordability with an enviable location in the thriving suburb of Gosnells.

“Family oriented, surrounded by nature and a short drive to Perth’s CBD, Homebrook in Gosnells provides an accessible alternative for first home buyers looking to have access to the amenities and opportunities that have been enjoyed by previous generations.”

Whilst the property market peaked in July this year, Perth saw the smallest decline in value across the capital cities and demand is holding despite high interest rates, especially with tight vacancy rate of just 0.6% according to the latest November report from CoreLogic.

Homebrook – proving to be a hidden gem is being snapped up by younger and first-home buyers, with many previously shut out of the housing market due to the growing population placing pressure on national housing supply and soaring property prices.

Homebrook as a community will bring convenience to its residents in the most natural fashion; surrounded by more than 25 local parks, nearby to shopping, dining and entertainment options, and only 26 kilometres from Perth CBD.
